Outer Space Kids Room Design

Home/ Home Page

I’m not a fan of having characters on everything in my child’s room — I prefer themes that aren’t outgrown with each new movie that comes out. But I am a big fan of aspirational themes like this month’s kids room design — an outer space kids room for the little astronaut in your life. Keep reading for all the details! Read more

Kid-Safe Indoor Plants that Detox the Home

Home/ Home Page

I’ve often admired all the fig leaf plants on Instagram and wondered if I could manage one … then remind myself that my toddler would destroy it in just minutes. This, lack of plant knowledge and the fact that my plants usually die has kept me from joining the many indoor plant owners of the world who have anything but succulents.  But I recently found a way to bring new indoor plants into my home in a way that I can manage and that’s safe for the kids. The best part? These plants clean the air!

Bohemian Wilderness Themed Baby & Toddler Shared Room

Baby/ Home/ Home Page/ Kiddos/ Tot

While nesting in preparation for Nora’s Birth, I decided to convert my office into a shared room for Nora and River. Though it’s a fairly small room, the long layout allows each kiddo to have their own side, as well as a shared space to play in. River’s side of the room is all about adventure in the mountain wilderness while Nora’s side of the room is airy bohemian florals. It really came together nicely and is one of my favorite rooms in the house.

Organizing the heaps of baby clothes you inevitably get from friends and family is one of the bigger pre-baby chores. Toddler-Friendly Eerie Halloween Porch Decorations

Home

Decorating for holidays with a toddler around can be challenging — especially for Halloween. You don’t want the decorations to be too scary or too uninteresting, and everything needs to be well out of reach so they don’t destroy or attempt to eat it. The key is to keep decorations simple, but fun. Keep reading for my take on eerie (but not scary) toddler-friendly Halloween decorations for the porch. Read more

How a Barn Door Transformed our Family’s Loft

Home/ Home Page

When we moved into our home we loved that it came with a nice loft. But even though the open space made for a fantastic play area for the kids, it was the first thing anyone saw when they walked up the stairs. Keeping the space clean with a tornado for a toddler and mini teenager wasn’t easy and I really needed a space to meet with clients or sit at a desk and work so we decided to transform the loft into a functional office space with room for the kids to play while I work. It’s going to be a long design process, but I’m so excited to share the first steps! Read more

How to Safely Bring Indoor Plants to the Family Home

Home/ Home Page

My grandfather put a lot of work into the floral landscape around his home. It was honestly the most beautiful home garden I’d ever seen and inspired me to try my hand at gardening. How do I do this with kids ranging from ages 1-7? Well, there are 3 ways to safely bring indoor plants to the family home. Keep reading! Read more
