I haven’t dressed up for Halloween in years. I’m pretty sure the last time was when S was 2 and I made a DIY Flintstones costume for us. But this year, the kids and I are matching thanks to this super easy butterfly, flower and bee themed family costume idea.
Summer break is almost over, which means it’s already time to shop for back-to-school outfits! But between family vacation and pre-fall repairs families can be on a tighter than usual budget, making cute, functional styles at the best price all the more essential. I scored some cute school outfits under $50 for my daughter and had money left to get myself some new clothes (hey, a mama needs to look decent too, right?)!
The idea of a capsule wardrobe has been a big sensation for the last few years but it’s been a thing for a lot longer than that in the world of motherhood. You see, no matter how many outfits you own it always seems to come down to the same few outfits that you pull out of the clean clothes hamper then have to immediately wash again because of some sort of gross mishap. It’s at this point that you start to wonder if you even have any other clothes (and if they still fit)! So I thought it would be fun to share three pieces of clothing that can be mixed and matched to look like different outfits for Spring. Keep scrolling to see them all! Read more

Do you take care of yourself? As moms it’s often hard to find the time to sit and relax, let alone think about our own wellness, but it’s time! Today, let’s start with our hair. There’s rarely time to nourish or take care of my hair — I shower then my hair goes in a wet mom bun until bedtime most days. If I actually get a chance to do my hair and go somewhere then I’m using a dryer and curling iron, which just fries my hair a bit more. At the end of the day it’s wavy, dry and lacks volume. So how do moms get through the busy day and somehow manage to take care of their hair too? I think I just found a solution that even works in this summer heat!

Spring means it’s time to break out the hiking gear, get the swim gear ready for the beach, and buy a new pair of tennies! Now that Savannah is 5 she is all the more into going on outdoor adventures with me, and because a lot of my time ends up being on the computer during the week I’m really enjoying going outdoors with her more, too. But Spring isn’t Summer — You need to prepare for a change in weather. Keep reading for a few of my favorite Spring outfits for trips outdoors. Read more

Fall is upon us, and with that I thought I’d finally share this 70s glam-inspired look Reichel Broussard (Copy Cat Chic) took photos of while we were staying at Holman Ranch (a breathtaking winery with restaurant and event space) during my birthday week in August — It’s perfect for this weather! Green is one of my favorite colors, and though I’m more of a white gold and silver gal, I really like wearing gold with natural/Earthy colors like green, brown, beige and red. I requested some fun statement jewelry from Sweet & Spark (a cute dad and daughter jewelry shop selling vintage jewelry finds) for this review and was sent a 70s bracelet and necklace to get my outfit ideas going. After searching for the right outfit, I found this clearance dress and fell in love with the color pairing, as well as how I could wear it for work, a special occasion or just glamming up my day.
