In just a few weeks my baby will officially be a big kid in kindergarten! The move from pre-k to kinder is so important for us that everything to do with our very first real back-to-school year has been huge — Especially the clothes! I picked out some items that were not only on clearance but would be able to offer a lot of versatility this school year. We were so excited to get them that S has been wearing her new styles while we check out her soon-to-be school. Do you take care of yourself? As moms it’s often hard to find the time to sit and relax, let alone think about our own wellness, but it’s time! Today, let’s start with our hair. There’s rarely time to nourish or take care of my hair — I shower then my hair goes in a wet mom bun until bedtime most days. If I actually get a chance to do my hair and go somewhere then I’m using a dryer and curling iron, which just fries my hair a bit more. At the end of the day it’s wavy, dry and lacks volume. So how do moms get through the busy day and somehow manage to take care of their hair too? I think I just found a solution that even works in this summer heat!

Spring means it’s time to break out the hiking gear, get the swim gear ready for the beach, and buy a new pair of tennies! Now that Savannah is 5 she is all the more into going on outdoor adventures with me, and because a lot of my time ends up being on the computer during the week I’m really enjoying going outdoors with her more, too. But Spring isn’t Summer — You need to prepare for a change in weather. Keep reading for a few of my favorite Spring outfits for trips outdoors. Read more

Who says moms should have all the fun? Dads spend time with the kiddos too, and so often change up their style a bit. The Daddy Style series is all about maintaining a hip style while being a prepared and engaged parent. Today’s black and grey color pairing allows for a diaper bag guys would totally be OK with toting around, a hip shirt with dad messaging, some headphones for quiet tablet time (sometimes the kids just want it to be a bit too loud and sometimes you want to watch your own thing), and an adorable swaddle set that can serve as a snot rag, blankie or doll cover as the kiddo gets older. I think the “My kid has an awesome dad” shirt says it all. (The following may contain affiliate links, meaning I get a few cents if you buy items.) Read more

It isn’t easy finding an affordable wardrobe that looks as great on you as it does off, and accommodates mom life without making you feel old. But, PinkBlush, a trendy online women’s clothing boutique does just this. Both their maternity and non-maternity styles are complimentary, affordable and on-trend! I first learned about PinkBlush when they brought some of their gorgeous women’s dresses, blouses, everyday wear, pants and accessories to the January Mom’s Night Out SF I hosted at Hotel Diva with a shopping and “me time” theme. I couldn’t believe how non-maternity their maternity clothes looked and was instantly in love. I finally asked PinkBlush if I could share a few pieces for Mama Style and they sent me two great items to share (the third isn’t available yet so I’ll post it on social when it arrives), plus are giving away a PinkBlush gift card to one lucky reader! Fall is upon us, and with that I thought I’d finally share this 70s glam-inspired look Reichel Broussard (Copy Cat Chic) took photos of while we were staying at Holman Ranch (a breathtaking winery with restaurant and event space) during my birthday week in August — It’s perfect for this weather! Green is one of my favorite colors, and though I’m more of a white gold and silver gal, I really like wearing gold with natural/Earthy colors like green, brown, beige and red. I requested some fun statement jewelry from Sweet & Spark (a cute dad and daughter jewelry shop selling vintage jewelry finds) for this review and was sent a 70s bracelet and necklace to get my outfit ideas going. After searching for the right outfit, I found this clearance dress and fell in love with the color pairing, as well as how I could wear it for work, a special occasion or just glamming up my day.
