Oh hey, it’s my due date! It’s weird to think that this is the first time I’ve ever reached a due date during pregnancy 😂 And between it being a “geriatric” or “mature” pregnancy (true OB office terms for over 35) and having given birth several times before, my body has been feeling EVERYTHING so much more. I’ve pretty much been saying it’s go time for the last month and a half. I’m basically the boy who cried “Wolf!” to my husband and I’m starting to think this little dude just might make it past the guess date/due date at this point. I’m not sure which I prefer. On one hand, it’s getting harder to do anything and it all hurts. On the other, I’m not ready to add a baby to the chaos in our home with the other kids yet ❤️ In fact, I’m over here still trying to wrap up IG giveaway prizes and sponsored content creation so I can ignore life for a week after birth.

Just impatiently waiting for you 🤣

It’s funny how toward the end of pregnancy there is so much hype and urgency for baby to be born and us expecting mamas start to feel the pressure. If not friends/family, then the OB offering induction at 39 weeks. But there’s this newfound power that comes with each pregnancy and version of motherhood that I feel preps us for a lifelong future of advocating for ourselves, for our children. I always go in saying the baby will come when they come and then something happen- I’ve only had one natural labor starter so far. I’m very swollen, very much feeling all of the pressure waves, and very much over being pregnant and worrying if I’ll notify my homebirth team too late BUT I’m also determined to wait it out and let the natural flow happen this time without intervention. Time to get out of my head and just keep prepping things. Happy Monday ❤️

It seems like the last year and a half has been ba

It seems like the last year and a half has been back-to-back sadness in the hardest way in the U.S. - where no one agrees, no one “wins,” everyone feels alone. My mind has been a mess lately and I’ve been in #36weekspregnant nesting mode to feel prepared and ready so that life is just one bit less hectic once baby is here. When I know I’ll need to be able to let go and fall apart. Anyone else doing the same?

It felt good to donate a lot of mom & baby care items to a local women’s shelter recently and clean up some of the house a bit more to prep for baby so now I’m just trying to get through checklist after checklist while I can with the kids all getting sick every other week. 🤣

I have to say, these @lovevery kits still don’t disappoint and I love learning new things about my 2-YO as she plays and learns with each activity. In fact, I already have a box ready for baby when they’re born in September and these play kits are listed in The Copy & Paste Baby Registry Guide (linked in my bio) that includes some of my favorite essentials for mom, baby, and the whole family (with the Earth in mind).

What does the @montereybayaquarium look like after

What does the @montereybayaquarium look like after being closed for a year? Crazy packed! We went with the littles recently while one of my nephews was visiting from Texas and it had more people now with mask mandates and a scheduled visit time slot than I have ever seen it in my whole life of visits to the aquarium. I’m guessing because everyone is vacationing and out more than they used to be now that they can be … but it was too much for me. We went to Benihana for some dinner then finished our long trip with a park visit in Sunnyvale to let the two littles release their wiggles.

Have you visited anywhere lately and been surprised by the number of people or post-closure changes? I’m interested to hear @parentlikeapediatrician talk about what schools might look like in fall and how to manage feelings about that at the @famsummit on Aug. 1 for sure after this trip.

Throwing it back to this travel trend and our family visit to check out the new @greatwolflodge in Northern California for #throwbackthursday this week 😍 Visiting the Great Wolf Lodge was so much fun for our family- and pretty much the only vacation we’re getting this summer with all the baby prep and @famsummit planning going on 😂 so it’s a good thing everyone (even my moody tween) had a blast!

My 2-YO loved the wave pool and toddler splash area. My 4-YO had fun on the slides and in the toddler splash area, and the 10-YO & my husband were all about the slides (14-YO had other plans). We tried something from each of the water-side restaurants and it was all pretty tasty. I think the candy shop and giant cupcakes at the ice cream shop were my favorite though.
