Fact: We want to survive. Your baby is going to tr Fact: We want to survive. Your baby is going to try to compensate any way they can to eat. This means that if you’re bottle feeding with a high-flow nipple - did you know all nipples do not have the same flow, even if they’re the same level?- or have a milk supply that gushes in, important signs of feeding difficulties may go unnoticed at first.

This is where I help! (And I am learning some really neat feeding screener tools from @halliebulkin for older littles this week too 😍)

(To name just a few)

Look for:

-Chomping at the breast
-Lip blisters
-Open mouth breathing
-Gasping at feeds
-Pushing away from the feed via body or tongue
-Gas/Colic

Trust your parent gut!

There is so much more to feeding and what it is revealing to us about your baby’s whole self- any trauma, tightness (ties and others), sensory needs, deficiencies, allergies… It’s an important journey.

Then we brought the shade away from the window and back for “open” and “close.” If you have cordless shades, try it out (woth parent supervision/interaction only) and let me know how it goes!

Tag a mama who needs to hear this and raise your e Tag a mama who needs to hear this and raise your emoji hand if you’ve walked around with your little like this 🙈

Us mamas are often GO GO GO which means not taking that pause to recline and breastfeed. Instead, we breastfeed while carrying our little(s) and getting things done! How do we do it all? Well we make sacrifices and prioritize all day long. We push. And maybe going into the new year we need to recognize that the only resolution we should care about is that pause. Or the ability to say, “I am a badass mom” instead of always questioning if we’re good enough. By filling our own cup with praise so that we can overflow that joy to our littles and be there for them always.
